Technical Solutions Specialist

Dr. Philip McCready brought his considerable expertise to QMI/Visual-Lean® Institute in 2005 when we asked him to find a suitable copy protection/licensing solution for our proprietary PowerPoint Presentations. Not finding one readily available, he developed an innovative digital rights management solution known as SoftShield®—now commercially available at www.soft-shield.com.

Dr. McCready continues as a creative force behind software innovations that help our products and services reach across the United States and the world.

Founder and president of Innovation Economics LLC, a research firm specializing in business development, and regional growth strategies, Dr. McCready previously managed Research Department of Great Western Enterprise, a not-for-profit UK economic development company with a $12 million annual budget. He also has 10 years experience in Special Purpose Engineering in Manufacturing on projects for Ford Motor Co. and DuPont.

Born in Belfast, Ireland as the middle of five sons, Dr. Phil (as we like to call him) necessarily developed some useful competitive instincts. Having launched a successful professional career in the United Kingdom, he met and married his American wife. They live in Denver with their three children, two horses, two dogs, one cat and thirteen chickens (including Spot the Rooster).

With a Ph.D. in economic systems of innovation and development, and a Masters in economic research methods from the University of Manchester, England, Dr. Phil likes to relax by horse riding or rock climbing in the playground of the Rockies—when not working on the latest economic development technology.
